Creative Writing Experiment #5
This creative writing experiment consists of beginning a story in media res.
She awoke. Sweating despite the freezing little one room apartment she and her companion were currently living in. She looked to her left and found him still asleep. It amazed her, how soft and relaxed his face was when usually it was so stern and emotionless. As she watched his chest move up and down she allowed herself to think about the future that she wished she could have. A future where she could come home from work to a husband and children, and never have to look over her shoulder in worry. She tried not to dwell on this subject too long for she knew she could never have the life she wanted.
