Creative Writing Experiment #2

This experiment consists of trying to write a children's book. I started writing this children's story my senior year of high school for my psychology class.

Always Bee Nice

Page 1
Beatrice woke up early in the morning.

Page 2
The light was shining through her window and the smell of honey was very strong.

Page 3
It was a beautiful day, but Beatrice was not excited about getting out of bed and going to school.

Page 4
For the past few days she had been bullied by a girl at school named Queen Bea.

Page 5
None of the kids at school liked Beatrice because she looked different from everyone else.

Page 6
Unlike the other kids she did not have stripes.

Page 7
She was bullied by Queen Bea and her swarm

Page 8
just because she was different.

Page 9
Beatrice did not know what to do about her problem

Page 10
so she decided to talk to her parents.

Page 11
After she told her parents about her problem

Page 12
they told her that she should be proud of being different from everyone else.

Page 13
Her parents then suggested three solutions to her problem.

Page 14
The first solution was to talk to her teacher.

Page 15
The second solution was to talk to a friend.

Page 16
And the third solution was to confront the bully.

Page 17
When she went to school that day

Page 18
she decided to confront Queen Bea and her swarm.

Page 19
After listening to Beatrice,

Page 20
Queen Bea realized that everything she had done to Beatrice was wrong.

Page 21
Queen Bea quickly apologized

Page 22
and begged for forgiveness.

Page 23
Seeing that Queen Bea was truly sorry

Page 24
Beatrice forgave her and decided that everyone should try and be friends.

  1. I really like your story. It's a similar idea to one I wrote. My only concern is that the issue was resolved to quickly and too easily to be realistic. Kids can be mean, and there is very little chance that confronting a bully when he/she is surrounded by all his crew will end with him/her admitting to being wrong and apologizing. Just a thought.

  2. Thanks for sharing this. Delaren makes a good point -- don't resolve the conflict so quickly. Also, I would love to see you have more fun with the world of bees. :)
